Well, James Brausch did indeed answer my question. Just as I realized he would. His response, which can be found at http://www.jamesbrausch.com/?p=682 is reminiscent of a very famous advertisement, a copy of which sits in my office:
An imposing looking executive sits in his chair with a scowl on his face. His hands are folded together in front of him, and his elbows rest on the chair. To his right run these eight lines of copy:
I don’t know who you are.
I don’t know your company.
I don’t know your company’s product.
I don’t know what your company stands for.
I don’t know your company’s customers.
I don’t know your company’s record.
I don’t know your company’s reputation.
And then across the bottom: “Now what is it you wanted to sell me?”
James was right. And I knew it was coming. I wouldn’t do business with someone or a company that I didn’t know, and clearly neither will he. That’s why I joined his magic email address. I’ll let you know how the relationship develops and how it works out.

As a previous Magical Email participant, all I can say is, “Good Luck.” Make sure you have good questions for him.
Steve,
Thanks for the heads up. I do intend on taking responsibility for the success of that mentorship. I learned a while ago that when things go wrong, I want it to be my fault. That way I can correct them. If they are not my fault, I can’t fix them. Joshua
Interesting comment from Steve - not exactly a ringing endorsement for the Magic Email address. I will be very interested in hearing about your experience with James.
